OPELOUSAS BUSINESS OWNER ARRESTED ON DRUG AND WEAPON CHARGES

According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, “On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, narcotics detectives obtained information from a confidential source that the "One Stop" business, located at 731 E. Landry Street in Opelousas, Louisiana was selling marijuana and illegal THC vapes. Detectives were able to obtain a narcotics search warrant for the business.”

Upon execution of the warrant, one individual was detained inside the business. During a search of the business, detectives located 76 (3.5 gram) bags of marijuana, 14 psilocybin mushroom bars, 9 THC vapes, 3 firearms, and $9,352.85 in US currency.

The owner of the business, later identified Ahmad Hassan, arrived on the scene while detectives were in the process of searching. Hassan was then transported to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office Safety Complex, where he was joined by his attorney. Hassan fully cooperated with detectives and admitted that all the illegal narcotics belonged to him.

On May 15, 2024, Ahmad Salaheddin Hassan turned himself in at the St. Landry Parish Jail and was charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule I CDS (2 counts),

illegal possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS (3 counts), and transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses.
